Who the R36 Ultra X suits
The 4:3 screen matches the native shape of most home-console games from the 8-bit to the PlayStation era, so those titles fill the panel without the side borders a square screen shows. Players who mainly run Game Boy or arcade games in portrait may prefer the square 720×720 screen of the R36 Ultra.
Performance should sit close to other RK3326 handhelds, because the chip and RAM are the same. The bigger, sharper screen is the main upgrade, not speed.
R36 Ultra X vs R36 Ultra
Both are vertical, both use the RK3326 and both list 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. The Ultra X trades the square 4-inch screen for a 4.5-inch 4:3 one and lists more internal storage. See the full comparison in R36 Ultra X vs R36 Ultra and every sourced number in R36 Ultra X specs.
